Well made product. Good for moderate backpacking or trail running or hiking. The spikes do not provide good grip on steep icy hills. The spikes need to be sharper. Also slips in deep snow, Not enough traction. Not recommended for steep and icy hills with more than six inches of snow.
Pros:
- Easy to install and remove

These fit my trail hikers perfectly. The velcro strap across the top of the foot adds security and prevents potential loss. Use them on a recent trip to the Enchantments in Leavenworth WA. Although I could have probably gotten by without them, they gave me a sense of security with the additional traction they offered as I crossed over Asgard Pass.

love them, fit snug and Hillsound had a social media contest and because I posted a pic, Hillsound sent me some gaiters!! Great product tho, used trail running in snow/ice in Eagle River, Alaska. Super light. I am 8 1/2 in women's and ordered a small. They fit over my running shoes and Vasque snow boots.

Works like it's supposed to. Hood traction on ice and snow and seem durable. Had to cross some sections of rock and left them on with no problems.

We bought 2 pair in early March, used them to walk to the ice caves at the Apostle Islands Nat'l Lakeshore, on Lake Superior. Parts of the frozen lake were smooth as glass and quite slippery, but the crampons worked flawlessly. They did pick up a bit of snow, and we had to knock them out a couple times, but not a major issue. Easy to put on and remove; comfortable, too. We look forward to using them for many winters to come, hiking on uncertain terrain, or just walking the dogs on unshoveled sidewalks.
