Most comfortable hiking ever... for 20 miles

by Nathan, from ID, United States Written on December 13, 2020
These are the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever worn. Substantially better. Like walking on clouds! Unfortunately, they are also the worst quality boots I've ever had. After about 40 miles in the boots, I've already had to glue the vibram cleats back on. And not just a couple of them. They are all just falling off. There is a serious design and manufacturing flaw when the soles won't stay on a $200+ boot. I'll return them if they are accepted.
Pros:
  • Super Comfortable
Cons:
  • No durability
Best Used for:
  • Long walk on asphalt?
Would recommend: No

Way too stiff sole.

by Randy Schmittle, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on April 8, 2020
Although the upper was the best design of all Hoka boots, the sole was way too stiff and had no cushion at all. Felt like walking on a 2x4 . Would have liked to keep the boot, but it hurt my feet just walking around my house for 20 minutes. Maybe there was a batch of defective soles made because from other reviews, it sounded like they should have had some bounce to them.??? I ended up going with the Stinsons. Way more cushioned sole. Similar to the Clifton 6 running shoes.
Pros:
  • Great lacing system
Cons:
  • Rock hard sole
Best Used for:
  • Door stop
