The traction and the overall weight of the shoe were great. However, something in the toe box area rubbed both pinky toes raw. Had to be returned.

I bought the X-Talon 212s, received them on Wednesday and ran a battlefrog at Lynnville TN on Saturday. Anyone who ran this race knows it was very rough and steep terrain. The shoes were exceptional!! I did not slip, stumble or lose my balance due to the rough terrain. These shoes grip like no other shoe I have ever worn. Awesome

Normally wear a 10.5, but the 10.5 in this shoe model was much too small. otherwise a very well constructed shoe, with nice sidewalls to keep the mud out. I returned these but did not order a size up. If I had, I may have even gone for 11.5 instead of 11. My toes were very crunched in the 10.5.

What can I say? I haven't even worn the shoe yet, except around my house, but in just that time, it is clear this is no ordinary shoe.
Let me start with a confession: I am not a trail runner. I am a backpacker. I want a pair of shoes I can kick around camp with, that don't add a lot of weight, and that can support any funny little adventure that might arise at 6 am before the packs are back on.
A friend suggested that the Talon might meet my needs.
First, the Talon is lite. Very light. I basically did not feel I had a shoe on in terms of weight.
Second, the soles seem to have a ton of grip. I could just about climb the wall in my stair case.
Third, the sizing is insane.
After reading a variety of reviews on line, I knew the length of the shoe is nonstandard . Based on these reviews, I ordered a half size up. The length is still too short. After speaking with a very helpful person here at Camp Saver, I decided to move up another half step. We'll see how that t urns out.
Something I don't understand - why would a company with the reputation that Inov8 seems to have offer a shoe for which on line customers need to guess at the sizing? It is counter intuitive. Just call a 10 a 10. It's a great product. Don't detract from it by calling a 10 an 11.

I wear a size 13 normally - need a size 14 in this shoe which is unfortunate because of the difficulty finding a large size in the US. Otherwise, shoe is perfect for OCR's.

X-talons are among the very best trail and terrain running shoes I have seen. Wearing them is like wearing fast, grippy moccasins. They have excellent traction under a wide range of conditions, and are my trail running and orienteering shoe of choice. They tend to be narrow and are definitively minimalist shoes - small heel drop, negligible ankle support.

I had been considering this shoe and Camp Saver had by far the best price. The shoes were shipped immediately and arrived in 1 business day! Ahead of schedule. Awesome!
The shoe is a little narrow, but I bought it for trail racing and like a snug fit. I find the "Performance" fit Inov-8 shoes to run 1/2 to 1 size large in length. I went down a half size in the X-Talon, and could have gone do
