very good water filter

I have taken this filter on many day hikes and overnighters and a few week long trips and i have been very impressed i can't even count the number of gallons i've put through it and it still performs with fast filtration great tasting clean water

This water filter works great. It comes with the extra o rings in case of a failure and has a nice carrying bag. The unit itself has a dual setting for when speed maybe a necessity as well. It primes quickly and processes the water well.

easy to use, and maintain

took it out the first time and was able to set it up and use it really quickly and easily. the only issue is that the pre filter at the end of the tube is difficult to take off of the tube so it can be cleaned.

Awesome device for my Philmont trip!

I couldn't imagine any other device I would use to purify the rivers and streams other than THIS Katadyn Vario Water Filter. An absolute necessity when in the back country of Philmont. No iodine tablets required.

It clogs quickly after trying to purify stream water immediately after a heavy rain. Best if used when the sediment has settled.

Great Invention!

Haven't left yet, but love this product. Have tested it here, and it is so easy!! Going around the world on a motorcycle, so the compact and lightweight unit is just what I need.

EXCELLENT

I used one borrowed on a rim to rim to rim at the Grand Canyon and was so exceedingly impressed I bought one as soon as I got home. I have a First Need Purifier but I am so tired of the huge expense of replacing cannisters that clog so easily and aren't field cleanable that it was past time for a change. I will be testing this one specifically on a Colorado Trail Backpack trip in July with a gro
