I HAVE USED TENT "FOOTPRINTS" FOR YEARS. IF I COULD NOT BUY ONE TO MATCH/FIT MY TENTS, I MADE THEM. USUALLY THEY WERE MADE FROM SOME FORM OF WATERPROOF MATERIAL. I BOUGHT THEM TO HELP PROTECT THE TENT FLOOR FROM ABUSE AND TO HELP KEEP THE FLOOR OF THE TENT DRIER. BUT THIS PRODUCT IS DIFFERENT FROM ANYTHING I HAVE EVER USED UNDER MY TENTS. IT IS NOT WATERPROOF BECAUSE IT IS A MESH CLOTH. WATER MIGHT PASS THROUGH, BUT EVERYTHING THAT MIGHT GO POKE IN THE NIGHT WILL HAVE A HARD TIME POKING A HOLE IN THIS FOOTPRINT. I HAVE NOT USED THE PRODUCT YET BECAUSE MY PLANNED TRIP WAS PUSHED TO THE BACK BURNER WHEN MY WIFE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH BREAST CANCER. THIS LOOKS VERY EFFECTIVE, SO I AM WONDERING WHY IT IS BEING CLOSED OUT. MAYBE WE ARE USED TO USING A WATERPROOF LAYER THAT CAN BE PUNCTURED. I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN.

My son had his footprint stolen and this was a gift to replace the stolen one. It is a perfect fit for his Grand Mesa 2 tent and it is the usual Kelty excellent quality.

I have backpacked and camped for many years and always felt I did not need a ground sheet for my tent to conserve weight. But as I recently purchased the Grand Mesa 2 my son convinced me to order the footprint.
It is a great product strong, waterproof, light and small pack size. It is very easy to install as well. This gives me peace of mind no matter where I have to pitch the tent. Well worth th

I've owned the Kelty Grand Mesa 2 Tent for a couple of years and used a small tarp as a footprint. When I saw this on sale I decided to buy it and have used it twice. I recommend a footprint for any tent; this is lightweight and will help keep my tent in good condition.
