These boots weigh less than my New Balance running shoes. I have only been on 3 hikes in them so far (4 miles, 8 miles, and 11 miles), and they feel great. I even wore them into work yesterday because they are so comfortable. I like the zero drop heel, but it may take some getting used to for some people. I was concerned that the lack of midsole would be a problem when going over rocky trails, but I have not had any problems with rocks digging into the soles of my feet. There is improved stability by being lower to the ground, I have not rolled my ankles at all in 23 trail-miles in these boots. The big roomy toe-box feels great and the flannel-like lining feels like I’m wearing a pair of slippers all day. They look good, feel good, and are at a great price. I’m hoping to be a pleased with their long term durability as I am with everything else.
