Most Helpful Positive Review One fatal flaw
i was looking for a minimalist boot that I could strap up when i needed to get work done. I tried the Vivobarefoot Hiker as it was onsale on Amazon. It came too small and was very rigid. I didn't get a larger pair as they are $190 and I was afraid the lugs would rip off. There are very few options out there so I took a shot with this one. I bought through campsaver as they had free shipping and a fit guarantee policy, which is better than I could get from Lems directly. The boot got here much faster than expected. Onto the boot itself, absolutely the most comfortable shoe I have ever wor...

Great all around boot!

by Mike, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on January 31, 2019
I had been contemplating purchasing the Boulder Boot for a few months, and finally pulled the trigger. I'm super happy with the purchase. I was a little hesitant about the comfortability as this is my first minimalist, "barefoot", shoe. After wearing them on a few hikes and a few days at work on film sets, I can say that I'm really impressed with the fit and the way my feet feel at the end of the day. I've also received quite a few compliments on the aesthetics, which is a plus. So far this zero drop, minimalist boot is a winner!

Exactly what I was hoping for!

by Mason, from AR, United States Written on April 8, 2018
I've been wearing predominantly Merrell barefoot running shoes of one version or another for the past several years, so when I stumbled across a minimalist boot option, I was imediately interested. I've only been wearing these for a few days thus far, so I cannot attest to their over all durability as of yet, but the comfort level and apparent build quality are impressive to say the least. I'll likely purchase a another pair just to have a secondary color option and am seriously considering adding their Primal 2 shoe to my collection as well.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Solid construction
  • Extremely comfortable
  • Compact and very packable
Cons:
  • None

Amazing shoe, small improvements can be made

I rarely write reviews, but the Lems Boulder Boot deserves one.
I walk barefoot whenever I am not at work or not backpacking. The Lems boulder boots are on my feet for the times I must wear shoes.

I spent a long time researching different shoes and I think these are one of the best.
The sole is thick enough to protect your feet from really sharp rocks with a loaded pack, yet thin enough to give you good ground feel.
They are bendable enough that you can flex your foot and grab with your toes, although you aren't going to get a full on monkey grip like you can with thin hurraches or simple bare feet, but hey you also wouldn't be able to walk on sharp shale with a loaded pack in bare feet. Right tool for the right job.

These work great on and off the mountain, I love their rugged yet refined style and there is enough color combos to satisfy everyone, if not you are too picky. The toe box is massive and it allows your toes to really spread out, my feet/toes never hurt after walking in these all day. Never cramped.

Pros:
-Lightweight
-Packable
-Stylish
-Very wide toe box

Cons:
- Durability
-Cotton lining
-Price

If the cons could be addressed I would give these shoes 5 stars day and night, but I just can't.

First off the sole is an air injected rubber which makes for a nice soft sole, but it also means it wears out quite fast.
I stomped around Joshua tree and Yosemite in these climbing on all the rough granite and the tread on these got eaten up.
With out th...

Nice boots!!!!

by J, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on January 10, 2018
Comfy and good looking. A little stiff and sized a little small but overall good quality. Black is the only canvas, which is lame. They should have more color options for canvas. natural fit is the way to go for your feet. Blah blah blah

These are so nice

by Macho, from NY, United States Written on January 8, 2018
The boots are so comfortable and can pretty much wear them with anything. True to size. Im thinking about buying another pair soon ! I also like the fact that they come with different color laces so, you wouldn't have a hard time wearing a different color shirt to go with these comfy boots.

Great bare foot boot

by Rob52, from OH, United States Written on December 27, 2017
This boot is great! Very light weight and sturdy, comfortable as well. Only reason it's not five stars is because the sizes run a bit (1/2) small. I bought a 44 but had to swap for a 45. Love the boots though.

Super comfy but smaller than i thought it would be

by LeftisRight, from FL, United States Written on November 21, 2017
this was the first time i've purchased anything using only Euro sizes and I used the sizing chart on Lem's personal site and it suggested for a US 11 to buy a Euro 45, which i did. When i got the boots in, i put them on barefoot and they were super comfortable but my toe was about to burst through the end without even wearing any socks yet. I figured the size 11 would be perfect for me b/c i'm in between 10 1/2 and 11 for all my shoes and boots i currently own, these just seemed to be a tad smaller than i thought so I'm just exchanging for the next size up. Other than that, amazing pair or boots. Def feels more like barefoot than a standard boot, but this is perfect for someone who lives in a warmer climate as well. It's like if Sanuk and boots had a child, you would get these!!

Lem's Boulder boot (canvas)

by Tyler, from OR, United States Written on November 17, 2017
Love these already. Pretty stylish, but functional. I got the canvas ones, which are listed as non-waterproof, but I sprayed them with a waterproofing agent, and they seem to be doing a good job of staying dry.

Really light, good wide toe box, barefoot feel without being flimsy.
