Why go Titanium when you can go plastic?

by Tyler, Gear Expert from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2011
I wouldn't say this is the most stylish or decorative but really who cares when you're packing in? Why spend $25 on a titanium spork when you can spend [$] on this and not have the trouble of punching a hole in your meal pouch. It is lightweight, convenient and inexpensive. You can't go wrong with the Light My Fire spork.

The best utensil

by Alex, Written on May 9, 2015
I love this spork. It is super super easy to clean. Doesn't get stained even when eating tomato soup! Even oils wash off really easy! I'm allergic to metal so I use this on to go and at home. It's really continent to use only one utensil to cook and eat your foods! The serrated edge doesn't cut breads or anything tough but works perfectly when cutting tofu or an apple. I love my bright orange spork! I may have to get a new one tho since I've managed to melt the edge cooking with oil (oops!). This spork is light and inexpensive so I recommend anyone buying this to get two!

a replacement

by J, Written on December 23, 2014
I bought this to replace my daughters previous one that she broke a point off. So they do break, but I am replacing it with the same thing. When we first started backpacking as family we had sporks with the fork and spoon combined on the same end. The problem I had with that setup is, it’s hard to scrape the last little bit of food out of the mug or bowl . When you are washing dishes with as little water as possible the little bits of oatmeal are a real pain. So I like having a real spoon end. I am not crazy about the knife edge, it isn’t useful.

Catches on quick

by Hannah, Written on September 10, 2011
One of my backpacking buddies let me borrow this product last year, and I loved it so naturally I purchased one for myself for this season. They're great. Super light weight, easy to clean, and durable. I noticed on the last two trips that all of my trail mates also had one.

Spork

Better off with a lexan spoon or spork. They tend to have a longer handle to reach down into pots or meal bags

Very Cool!!

For the price, How can you lose!!
Quality product, flexible but rigid also.
A little small but adequate.
A lot easier to keep track of one brightly colored utensil than a fork, knife and spoon.
The serrated edge is almost useless but I guess if you don't have a knife it would suffice.

Handy Utinsil

by Bear River Moun, from UT, United States Written on September 10, 2011
Tough to really go wrong with such a cheap little backpacking utensil. I weighed my various backpacking spoons and forks and this is the lightest weight one I have. If you eat out of dehydrated meal bags frequently you might want the larger model so you don't have to shove your hand down in the bag but I usually eat from my pot so this is perfect.
