Broke this thing in proper on some projects! I got tired of working stuff on a skinny and this rope fit the bill. It’s super squishy and gives very soft catches. Not too heavy but thick enough to endure all the massive whips! Good rope mammut!

This rope is one of the best first ropes you can buy. The protect treatment means rope washing is delayed an extra few trips, and the 9.8 size is the perfect balance for a new leader who needs fall protection instead of a skinny project sender. That being said, this rope's weight/strength ratio is just fine., totally easy to stick in your pack and hit the trail. I haven't experienced kinking, and the rope has remained easy to handle over the first year of its life. I'd highly recommend Mammut ropes. I'll be buying another in the next season or two.
Best Used for:
- Sport Climbing on Lead/Top Rope

I have a few ropes, two of which are Mammut. The violet fire pattern is one of the best looking ropes Ive seen. the mammut eternity is an awesome rope. its kinda soft, tough, soft catch, and well made. I trust mammut ropes. All their ropes and slings are great quality. The eternity has an excellent fall rating for a 9.8mm.
Cons:
- Not as supple as the elderid ropes.
Best Used for:
- sport climbing
- Trad climbing
