Most Helpful Positive Review A huuuuuge step up for me!
i write this as someone whose previous bag was a cheap summer synthetic bag that may have been suitable for car camping in August, but wasn't good for much else. I nonetheless hauled that baby (and an extra liner) on many a backpacking trip, and just came to expect a chilly and uncomfortable sleep as par for the course. I just couldn't afford a good bag... Until now. The Helium is by far the nicest piece of gear that I own (hooray for backpacking on a grad students' stipend!), and is a high quality item for which I paid a VERY reasonable price. It's a billion degrees warmer and more comfortab...

I put him in the car.

by alongalei, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on September 28, 2022
This is a classic sleeping bag, which can be used on foot or put in the car. I take him with me every day, put him in the car and keep me warm at any time.I use the long model. It would be more comfortable if it had the width of an envelope.

Two cold nights. So far very impressed!

by Brant B., Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on December 4, 2020
I'm on the bigger size, 6'05" 235 lbs, so I was a bit reticent about picking this. I usually go for the Big Agnes roomier bags. But I was looking to upgrade to down for a quality 3 season bag, and this looked like one of the best options out there, and seemed like a good value to boot. I was very happy with the fit, but happiest of all with the luxury plushness of the down and material. Stayed plenty warm in a tent down to 25 degrees, even with the family-sized uninsulated inflatable air mattress, so I'm very confident that it will handle 15 and below with ease when paired with either my Big Agnes or Exped down mats.
Pros:
  • luxurious down
Cons:
  • None so far

Good sleeping bags can be very breathable and warm

by Makalu T, Verified Owner from TAICHUNG CITY, Taiwan Written on May 25, 2020
Comfortable temperature can reach -9 degrees c
It is worth mentioning that this sleeping bag is very breathable
It ’s not like locking your temperature inside
That's hot and sweaty ~
A good sleeping bag can keep your body temperature and can also release heat
People lose body moisture when they sleep
I have observed whether there is any white vapor like water vapor drifting from the surface of the sleeping bag when I sleep inside
It's amazing that I can observe it every time ... sleep
Pros:
  • Good sleeping bags can be very breathable and warm
Cons:
  • None

I purchase this bag mainly because of all the reviews on different blog. It is extremely light, compact and warm... I plan to thru-hike the PCT with it and I'm really confident in my choice!

Best Light-Fast Bag for the Money

by Ry, Written on August 5, 2014
I researched for weeks, purchased three bags, and finally decided the Helium was the keeper. This one replaces my old REI synthetic that weighed 3.5 lbs. I weighed this bag and it is exactly 2 lbs 6 oz as advertised. I weighed it on a digital scale with the stuff sack and then weighed the stuff sack to deduct the weight. That said, the stuff sack weight is minimal if you prefer to pack the Hel

Took a little work to get it compressed down to fit in its stuff sack, but overall a great sleeping bag.

This baby has loft and is nice and warm

by Canyon Trekker, from SD, United States Written on May 5, 2014
Compared to some other sleeping bags I've owned (also high-end), this one has the most loft and is the most comfortable. It has a little more room inside which is nice, and the zipper is very smooth and doesn't snag. I keep going back to my Helium as my all-around favorite piece of gear. What are you waiting for? Buy this!
