Most Helpful Positive Review Great Jacket!
Love this jacket. I'm 5'8", 150lbs and the small was a nice fit. Snug but still able to sneak in a fleece layer (a slim fitting fleece layer of course). Very light and is awesome as a cool/cold weather travel jacket.
Most Helpful Negative Review Very disappointed - not warm at all
I had the Marmot Zeus jacket which was similar - lightweight with high down fill. This Quasar Jacket is not warm AT ALL. It felt more like a sweatshirt in 40 degree NYC weather, and I quickly regretted buying this coat. Switched back to my 2 year old Zeus in the same weather and was kept warm, the w...

Awesome looking jacket, get comments on it every time I wear it. 6'2" 195 size large. Little snug in arm pits, but fits everywhere else.

Great Jacket

Good by itself if not to cold, a great mid layer in very cold weather. Very good fit, and moves with you, no resistance.
To top it off, not that it matters, it’s also a great looking jacket.

Worth the inverse of its weight in gold

35 Days on the Colorado Trail, worn every morning and evening for chores and cooking as well as in the sleeping bag at night. What a great way to take the nip off the eve and morning!

Yes, it loses a few feathers, but for such a light jacket this should not surprise. We need to be willing to pay a price for a piece that does this great a job at that low a weight. For my purposes this jacket strikes the balance right. I would not have wanted to drag my more substantial jacket along that does not lose feathers after 15 years, but weighs almost twice as much.

The L size jacket fit this 6'3" 190 lbs guy like glove.

An excellent purchase!

Solid UL jacket - cut on shoulders a bit weird

by tghost, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 21, 2016
Fit: Got this in a medium which is what I usually get. Isn't too tight. I can comfortably wear a t shirt with a thin merino hoodie underneath. If you are going somewhere extremely cold and want to layer a bunch, I would get the large. But the jacket by itself is already super warm. The only odd thing about the fit is the shoulders kinda keep the shape of a broad shouldered person. So if you are broad shouldered it'll fit like a glove. If you are skinny, it might look like you are wearing your dad's suit, lol. The quality of the jacket and the stitching is top notch.

Tried lots of others; This one is a keeper!

I'm a winter jacket enthusiast! Since I've retired, I've gotten serious about my fitness, and walk almost every day, year round (temps vary from 0 and below, to over 100). I needed gear that supports cold weather use. I have wool and polartec alpha for layering, and down for the top layer (with a rain shell for days when it's both cold and wet. I have 2 Westcomb hooded down jackets for the really brutal days, and now I have the best option for all the rest: the Marmot Quasar Jacket.

The sizing is good; allows layering if I want, but also fits well for basic warmth when I'm running errands. It's very light, and very warm. Something about the down quality, the fill weight, the amount of down, the outer fabric, or the combination gives it a warmth factor that I haven't found in other jackets (and I've tried a lot of them!). I don't camp in winter, or ice climb, or ever do much wilderness hiking in winter -- lots of time on wintery suburban streets, though. I'm satisfied that this will be a jacket that will see lots of use, and will last me for many happy years.

Awesome Jacket

This jacket makes an amazing mid layer for winter or top layer for cool weather. Packs up super small into it's own pocket during the day when on the trail and then when at camp keeps me nice and toasty.
