Marie's Review of Marmot Tungsten UL Tent - 1 Person
I've been lugging around a much heavier two-person tent for years and was looking for an ultra-light one that could accommodate my 50 pound dog and me. I am 5'8 and 115 pounds, so on the tall but thinner side. It was a risk in ordering a one-person tent, but this one actually worked out! I sleep with my head at the narrower end of the tent so that she has more room at my feet. I have to reach down to use the pocket, but that's not a big deal. With my pack and boots in the vestibule, we're quite comfortable, though neither of us tends to spread out when we sleep. I won't claim that it's spacious with that arrangement, but it is definitely worth having a much lighter load.
I haven't had to use the rainfly yet, so I can't speak to that, but I do love how breathable it is - it is all netting except for the floor and the six-inch strip of nylon around the bottom. Sometimes the condensation in the two-person tent was horrible with the two of us breathing in it all night, especially if the dog was panting for any length of time.
I'll still use the two-person tent for regular camping just for the extra space, but this will make backpacking trips much more manageable.
