I have tried several brands including Patagonia, North Face, Columbia, Eddie Bauer's First Assent, REI...Although all of them are light and warm this jacket is a best fit for women.

The Marmot Venus is like wearing a cloud - soft and comfortable. I bought it last fall and was comfortable in temps ranging in the 60's. It was not too warm, but seemed to adjust to my body temp. I'm now wearing it in minus 10 degree weather and I'm still warm, although I don't stay outside very long - it's mostly short trips around town. If I were to go hiking or stay outdoors longer, I would lay

This is a great all around jacket. I moved close to the mountains and bought it at the end of the winter season, thinking I wouldn't get much use out of it until next winter - I was wrong. I used it weekly, especially at night time when the temperatures dipped and it was easy to pack in a backpack for trekking excursions.

I wish I had bought this jacket years ago. It is great for all outdoor cold weather activities. Lightweight, packable ... it is my jacket of choice for everything. Price is great for the value. I absolutely love the Marmot Venus Jacket.

Coat fits well, warm, light, and pretty color. Should do well as a car or around-town coat. Will use it under a shell for cool-weather camping.

Very flattering jacket without a "puffy" look. Light as a feather, and can pack and go anywhere. Slip a shell on, and it can withstand more weather than you would initially guess. Great travel wear as well.
All colors are very bright, but in a very feminine stylish way.

Just got back from backpacking in the Sierra's with low's from 8-15 degrees and it snowed most of the trip. This jacket got me through - used in conjunction with mid-weight thermal, fleece jacket and shell. I had plenty of room under the down to add up to three layers. When less was needed I like that this is a more compact jacket and not too bulky. Also, I love that it packs into its own pocket.

I'm using this for a northbound hike on the AT. I was going to go for a similar but more expensive jacket from a different label.
This one fits a little strange. I had to size up to a medium just so the bottom hem wouldn't ride up too far when I swung my arms... I've owned Marmot before, and their limbs (arm lengths and inseams) run a little short.
Its hard to find actual specs on the exact

I purchased this jacket in "Cayenne" because I already own it in the adorable hot pink color it came in 2 years ago. Since that first purchase, this jacket has become my favorite jacket. I wear it everywhere, year-round even (by itself during cooler summer months in the mountains or over another fleece during the really cold winter months). It is absolutely PERFECT: stylish, great fit, fun color
