Not what they used to be - Merrell Moab 2 Vent Hiking Boots - Men's

I've been a Merrill user for a long time. Sadly, the trimming of corners (to save money?) has put them out of the running with me. The Moab vent 2 is a nice shoe, but Merrill has made the finger loop so small, it's a vestige. By that, I mean it's no longer functional. I can barely get one finger in it. And, this change is across the board on all shoe/boot models. An extremely popular (Desert Storm) Chameleon Stretch boot has been ruined with every new generation. Loved that boot. Ordered a new pair, and couldn't even recognize them, and I couldn't get a foot into them. Now, I shop elsewhere.
Pros:
Ten years ago they were good.
Cons:
They've lost functional value. I wish they field tested new generations prior to production.
Best Used for:
Proping the door open.
Would Recommend:
No
