This is a seriously great jacket. I was forever on the search for a really warm winter jacket that would be also be a good piece of backpacking kit. I tried stuff from Marmot, Mountain Hardware and GoLite, but nothing fit the bill. This one takes the cake. The box baffle construction, at this price range, is a huge value. Sturdy yet light and warm

Bought it for my husband who is quite choosy about what he wears. He has worn it a few times in the recent arctic chill. He wore it as the outer layer over a tt and sweater, found it perfect.

Very happy with this parka.

I wear this parka everyday in northern Wisconsin. We have temps below zero often and this parka has kept me very warm. Very happy with this purchase.

Better than other reviewers say it is !!

The -10 degree, windy weather the northeast has been getting this year kicked my but and my usual 4.5 oz of down fill, sewn thru, jacket was seeming pretty cold. So I bought this. It is so nice. Slightly to puffy but the euphoria of the warmth and lightness of it makes that really moot. A real pleasure knowing I'll never be cold.

Perfect cold winter jacket

The -15 degree days were kicking my butt here in the NE so I had to find something warmer and not go broke doing it. This is an amazing jacket. Not to puffy, but puffy. So warm and cozy I guess I don't care. Way to warm for any activity I've every done, Maybe I'll use it for sitting on stand hunting next year. Not to puffy to wear around town though so that's what it's doing right now.

High quality

This is an extremely nice Parka at a good price. I was really impressed with the materials and quality workmanship. It's also very warm. I bought an Outdoor Research Maestro and the Frost Line and really wanted to keep the Montbell, but the fit and movement was better for me with the OR. The Montbell is warmer and has no cold spots (unlike the OR) based on just standing outside at 15 F. Also

Warm & Toasty

This jacket is nice and warm, the loft of the 800-fill down is great, the adjustable, detachable hood is not too big, the length is 3-4 inches past your waist, which I find to be perfect for this type of jacket. My brother made fun and said I looked like the Michelin man, but honestly when I'm this warm, who cares.
