Great Jacket
I have two of these jackets. One in red for backcountry and one in olive that I take hunting. This is a great jacket for all around use in both the backcountry and town. It has been the jacket I've worn when the temp drops and I need the extra warmth while skiing. The DriLite Loft fabric keeps mixed...

Warm not too puffy
The fit was spot on. The shell appears pretty rugged and isn’t sheddding feathers. Has stood up to some short term rain fall. It is warm! I think this jacket will be a great performer! I’m not real keen on the hood adjustment but given that it is even adjustable is more than most down jackets. The c...

Warm winter jacket
The jacket has a good insulation - natural down 700fp. This jacket allows it to compact compactly to fit in its own bag. The hood is adjustable in volume. This is a good option for winter conditions. You can take with you on high-altitude hiking.
Pros:
- Light
- warm
- DWR
- compactly compressed
Cons:
- cold seams
Best Used for:
- HIKING
- City
Would recommend: Yes
For the extreme cold, not so much everyday
Jacket is extremely warm and comfortable. It is a full blown winter jacket, it’s not extremely light, if you want something more for everyday go for the skyline vice the light line, this is a perfect ski jacket.
Pros:
- Warm and waterproof
Cons:
- Little bulky for everyday use
Best Used for:
- Outdoor work, ski, extreme cold

Very warm,very comfort
I purchased M size. It is very warm because it fits well and hides the waist. Because it is not too thick, it also fits in town clothes. Also, unlike other manufacturers' down jackets, the outer material is very strong, so you can hook it up a little.

Excellent Jacket, Very long torso, Limited after sale support in USA
I liked the material and Jacket design.
the fitting is such that it won't feel bulky.
This is more than enough for winter in North Carolina. Haven't tested yet in northern winters. Will update once I do so.
Pros:
- Excellent material. Shell feels tough, and I did not experience down leak.
- Shoulder, arms and hood fitting is really nice.
- Is pretty warm
- 2-way front zipper (My key point choosing this jacket)
Cons - if I have to say.
- Torso is really long. I am just 5'2" and length won't look good at all. 2-way zipper feature help me treat this jacket like a parka and that way it's good.
- Mid torso is not that roomy, if you have slightly higher mid section, then will be difficult
- it's stitch through construction, so one can easily see and feel the insulation spots.
If you are lean and tall, this would make excellent fit. Volume and quality of down is highest in this price range. Looks good, not at all bulky look for the warmth.
Serviceability of this jacket for extended time (say 10 years) may not be easy as Mountain equipment support is NOT as great as that of TNF or Patagonia.

- Very low down leak (I haven't experienced any)
Cons:
- Color I choose - Blaze
- Torso is too long. Fit is for lean and tall folks
Best Used for:
- Backcountry usage
- Limited city use. Not so good for office wear.

Awesome warm and value!
I been looking for a good quality winter jacket for the New England weather and casual hiking. I wanted something warm, but not overly puffy. The last coat I owned was far too large and inflated that it was actually difficult to hike and shovel snow in. I came across this jacket after a long time searching. A very long time. Although I had never heard of the brand, all reviews I read about the Lightline highly praised it. After receiving it I have to say everything I've read lives up to what I had hoped. It is incredibly warm, but it is also very stylish and fit somewhat slim. While it was a bit costly, I always believe that you pay for what you get. This is well worth the investment, and I cannot wait for winter now.

Warm, durable, great value!
Was looking for something to replace my heavy weight down jacket. Have not had any experience with Mountain Equipment in the past. This is an upgrade. Very lofty. It doesn't give me that cold nylon against skin feeling when you put it on, but is soft and warm to the touch. It feels like you're wrapped in a blank. Also appreciate the fully insulated hood compared to other jackets skimping there. Great fit too. A little bit trim and longer cut.

Happy customer!
Having done much research on down jackets came across the Lightline based on reviews worldwide. By far the most value for money in terms of quality 700 down for the price ( >10 oz is a ridiculous amount for the price and found in jackets way north of $500) Comfortable down to 0-10F with T-shirt underneath for dog walks during recent Northeast cold blitz. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Perfect for Andes mounraineering
Probably the best down jacket I've ever owned. I have been using it for high mountaineering in Cordillera Blanca, Perú for 40 days. It worked perfectly and pack in its own stuff sack pretty decent so you can take it in your attack pack when reaching the summit when the sun rise.
Best Used for:
- Winter season and mountaineering

Warm and weatheroof..
I took my annual trip to Alaska in the beginning of March. The weather can be real hit and miss around Anchorage at that time of year. But I enjoy getting a last bit of winter camping in around that time. The mornings were in the mid to high 20's, and I even had some wet snow and rain a couple of mornings. I was plenty warm in this jacket every morning. The rain was completely repelled by the DriLite fabric of the jacket. It's not like Goretex where the whole jacket is seam taped but the fabric is waterproof and was plenty breathable. Super impressed with this jacket. I'm looking at buying a goretex jacket from Mountain Equipment also, really enjoying the brand!

MEL Down Jacket
The Jacket is extremely warm and appears very well made. I would purchase again. Found out about the jacket from jacket recommendations at:

Found this article very helpful. This jacket is by far the warmest for it's price point with10.4 ounces of 700-fill down. You can't beat it for the price. I was warm with a t-shirt underneath in 10 degree weather this morning.
