Impressive Jacket
Why get a jacket that is supposedly so warm? Well I live in Northern MN and ice fish on Canadian border lakes where the temps dip to -30F and the wind can make the wind chill drop to -50F. I've done this for 30 years and have tried many types of claimed warm clothes. Some work, some didn't. I'm hoping the Absolute Zero lives up to its name. 45 years ago I hiked 5 miles in -25F with the wind blowing 15 mph in a similar down jacket. It kept me from freezing as I'm still here. I wore that jacket out. Now I found the Absolute.
It fits true to size on me. I wear a XL and that is what i...

Great all around outdoors jacket
This is the jacket that gives me the most peace of mind. I walk for hours in the wind and rain, or ride a motorcycle. I never get wet. All the zippers are square water, and the pockets are also waterproof. A jacket full of sincerity

Too big
It was too big but other than that, I think it’s a very warm and sturdy jacket.

Big jacket
This jacket keeps you warm but takes up a lot of space in any backpack and is major big and puffy when you are wearing it. Overly cumbersome when wearing. Weather must be very ugly before there is a need for a jacket like this.

Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Parka
Haven't tried it in the mountains yet but I can say one thing for sure...it HAS to be warm! Own a Marmot Down Parka that in fairness was half the cost but it has 650 down fill and was not cheap. Was in sub-zero temps in the mountains last January and I was disappointingly cold. Tried on the Absolute Zero and it is the SAME weight as the Marmot, 800 down fill, what looks and feels like twice the amount of down based on grams, and immediately enveloped me. HAVE to believe I could sit on the top of a mountain in sub-zero temps with my camera taking photos of an awesome sunrise without shivering in this monster. In the end, you get what you pay for.
