Most Helpful Positive Review Pretty good jacket
I will start by saying I'm hard to please, but I'm happy with this jacket. It has kept me warm down to 9° with a base layer and a thick mid-layer. I can't speak of its windproof or water repellent qualities yet because it hasn't snowed so far this winter. It's a good looking jacket (after I got all the wrinkles out) I love the "butter jersey" cuffs! It's extremely light, too. The only negative thing I can say about it is I feel like a $450 (retail) jacket should have a little more loft to it. Phantom Hooded Down Jacket

Very pleased with Campsaver's quick delivery, discounted price, and available color selection (I wanted red or yellow to avoid being mistaken for wildlife by hunters and everyone else only had dark colors). I needed a warmer jacket for high elevation and snow camping that was lite and fitted in my already crowded 56L Alpine pack. This jacket is warm and fits great with a good hood, yet still very lite. I got the medium. I'm 5.6, 150lbs.

Superior Jacket

I bought the electron yellow jacket and have found that it is just the ticket when worn as a VERY warm mid layer under a waterproof, breathable shell, also electron yellow, by same manufacturer. You will NOT be disappointed with this jacket. I have worn both the Phantom hooded jacket and the shell during a blizzard at about 15 degrees below freezing and I was as dry as a bone and as warm as toast.

This is a wonderful down jacket. It will be my everyday coat Dec. through March in cold N. Wisconsin. Light but tough, puffy enough for 10 degrees, great hood, pockets, cuffs. Length covers the hips. I'd buy it again.

MH Hooded Phantom

As a long time Mountain Hardware fan I was surprised to find a Hooded Phantom Jacket in a nice, bright color. The design of the jacket is quite a bit different than the original Phantom but I like the differences. The hood is especially nice to have but it is sized for a helmet so it is a bit too large without one. The size of the jacket seems to run a bit large but it is not a problem. Over all, a wonderful purchase and Campsaver was a breeze to order from.

Huge!

Cut big, might seem too big but it's perfect for going over a shell or holding mittens and water bottles. I with there was a way to reduce the hood volume.

Extremely warm, good technical piece, but not at all flattering

If you are looking for a very warm, compressible, lightweight jacket, this one will be hard to beat. I tried several offerings from other brands, and this one was really super warm. Unfortunately, I wasn't looking for a belay parka and was trying to find a very very warm everyday jacket. This was not at all fitted and simply was not flattering in the looks department. If you are looking for a midlayer or true climbing parka, this could be the right fit.
