Reviews & Ratings for Mountain Hardwear Spectre 20 Sleeping Bag
— 7 reviews — Page 1
This is an extremely durable bag. The conduit shell sheds water, and as long as you aren't sleeping in a swimming pool, it will keep yourself and the bag dry and warm. Bomber construction with heavy duty zippers and a rock solid collar system that keeps out any drafts. Packs down well in the included compression sack for a 3 season expedition bag with a weight of just under 3lbs.
Keep in mind, the regular bag is short with a max user height of 5'10. So if you're any taller, go for the long. Also just a heads up, unlike the picture online, this bag is blue.

I spent almost 10 days in this bag at the Grand Canyon. I slept outside under the stars and never got cold or uncomfortable. I was there in March and it hailed/tried to snow one night and I tucked my head into the bag and went right back to sleep. The waterproof outer layer kept me dry and performed great. The high fill power down warms up almost amazingly fast! Climbing into a cold sleeping bag is no big deal with this bag. As soon as you are in it starts to warm up. There is extra space in the knees and shoulders which allows you to roll over inside of the bag without twisting the bag. The hood is perfectly shaped to protect everything but your mouth/nose when the bag is completely zipped up. In the 3 weeks I have had the bag I have slept in it 13 times in three states and 2 national parks and I love it to death. I can't think of a single thing I dislike.

I got the left-handed zipper, long version because it was on clearance. I am 6' and there is more than enough room to move around; it does not feel claustrophobic at all. The material near the zipper seems strong. I am right- handed, but the fact that the zipper on the left is no problem at all.
