Wide mouth Nalgene Canteens

I have not used my water canteens yet but have used my friends multiple times in group camping. We use the large size canteen to easily fill up with unfiltered water at the stream and can then carry it back to camp and transfer into a gravity filtering system without having to carry it or potentially contaminate its parts with the dirty water. The wide mouth facilitated filling in the streams. I finally decided I needed a couple wide mouth Nalgene canteens for myself! The smaller size, just over 2 liters, is a great substitute for my hard Nalgene bottles and can save space in my backpack. Campsaver was one of the few companies where I could find these items.

Nalgene Collapsible Canteens

Outstanding item. These weigh less than the rigid LDPE/HDPE bottles and they can adapt a bit to the available space within ones backpack. The cap is attached with a small bail to prevent loss. Lastly - and best of all - when the canteens are empty, they may be rolled up to occupy almost no space. These canteens are surprisingly durable. I have never experienced a leak.

Functions and lightweight

I have been using these for years, stows easily in your pack when not in use or hang it with a carabiner to your pack. Fits perfectly to my Katadyn water filter.

Flexible Nalgene Wide Mouth Canteen - 96 ounce

Bought a pair of these to try out for a long trip. Filled them to the fill line and froze them into solid blocks. Worked great as ice blocks in the cooler, and as they melted it provided nice cold drinking water too.

GREAT Product

Very good product for backpacking. It holds a little more than a liter, collapses after use to make for easy storage, the lid holds securely and does not leak. It holds up to being dropped and does not puncture very easy. The ounces saved are significant once compared to the hard bottle nalgenes. For novice or serious backpackers it is a MUST have.
