Initially the bladder was okay; however, on the 4th use, the hard plastic where the hose enters the bladder cracked, causing it to leak. I looked on Nalgene website and found no information re: guarantees or how to send back. Anyway, found an address to send it to and did so. After a couple of weeks, I called Nalgene Customer Service. The Rep asked for my return authorization number...the webs
This Nalgene Encapsul Bladder is poorly made using cheap materials. The bite valve is hard to dry out and keep clean. When you first get it you want to disassemble the bite valve since there is grease from the manufacture left in there. I assume the grease is to make assembly easier. This particular Nalgene bladder (or its predecessor) came with the North Face hydration backpack I'd bought for mountain biking. It (the bladder) was fine - I liked the way the lid screwed on; it was easy to use. Then the hose started leaking. I found out this is a very common problem with these Nalgene bladders. I replaced it with a Platypus bladder and hose and no longer experience any leaking.
