We generally like the tent. It was moderately easy to put up, needed two people to help maneuver poke to get it up. One pole cracked on the first use and we are contacting Napier, hopeful that they will replace it. We duct taped the pole and used the tent for two more nights and liked it. Hooks up to the car well, we bought a roll of heavy duty magnetic tape and laid strips on the edge of the tent to keep it tight to the car. The main door zipper gets caught and sticks often.
Pros:
Pretty easy to set up. Compact to pack.
Cons:
None
Would recommend: Yes

Needed to travel to Northern Maine for a photo project. Opted to camp instead of rent an RV. Given that I drive a minivan the Backroadz SUV Tent was an appealing option. When it arrived I did a test setup to be sure all parts were present and that it would mate with the van. All good! I quickly learned two things. 1)If there isn’t a wind problem don’t stake down the tent until fully erected. Much easier to ‘walk’ the tent into position than drive to it. 2)When putting the tent away, leave the door unzipped and roll to it to allow the air inside a way out. My first try rolling from the door end left me with a large inflatable by the 3/4 roll point. This tent is very tight! I was surprised how spacious it is! I’m a hefty 6 footer and felt very roomy! It takes about 15 minutes to set it up alone and when your vehicle has a roof rack very little difficulty attaching to the vehicle. I had plenty of space to organize all my gear with room to do yoga. With all side panels unzipped and stowed in the toggles the breeze was wonderful. When I order online I usually prepare to be disappointed by some aspect of the transaction or product. None of that here! I’m delighted with every aspect. Can’t wait to go camping again!!! Mark Rockwood
