Good, but... - Numyth Vulcan Fire Piston V2

I liked the idea to light a fire with a piston. The piston itself is well thought and made and comes with spare rings. But when it comes to make an ember, it will not do so unless in very specific conditions. I have tried many materials such as cotton (very thin) , tobacco, coal, paper, thin dry wood, and others but no one managed to ignite. The only thing that ignited was char cloth. So unless if you carry enough char cloth, I assume it will be quite hard to find on site materials that will ignite. The bushcraft pleasure you can take out of the piston may be limited to the thought or having it, rather than using it...
