Lives up to the Ortovox brand!! **Sizing is Different**

by Phish412, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on May 2, 2021
I’m a sucker for Ortovox products. Yes they are overpriced but I love their style, their feel, and their quality so I’m willing to pay more for their products. I was excited when this jacket arrived as I was going back and fourth about getting it for awhile so when it went on sale at over 50% off I had to grab it. Everything is what you expect from from an Ortovox product or any other premium brand. The quality is top notch and it feels and looks like a quality piece. One caveat I have to add is I got this after winter (wrote this on 4/10/21) so it won’t be tested out in the cold and snow until this coming winter but I have no concerns about it’s durability or performance in almost every aspect. I am interested to see how warm it is though. For an insulated jacket it’s relatively thinner than other jackets I’ve had so I guess it’ll come down to how well that Swisswool Black performs. Now one big point I have to make is if your use to buying Ortovox products and go a size up because they run small do not (as in DONT DO IT) with this jacket. I’m a L and every one of their products I’ve owned I’ve had to get an XL which is what I did with this jacket and I had to return it for an L because it was too big. The arms are especially and inexplicably long. If there’s a reason for this it escapes me. Now if this jacket is worth the price tag only you can decide. Hope this helps and happy shopping!

  • QUALITY
  • Materials
  • Look and Feel
Cons:

  • Runs big for Ortovox

Amazing ski jacket for cold days

by Jay, from CO, United States Written on October 16, 2019
This thing is soooo warm. Perfect for cold days on the hill. The exterior is waterproof, sheds snow easily and the wool insulation gives a broad range of comfort throughout the day. Hood fits great over my POC helmet. The pockets are also super functional. You have plenty of room to stash snacks, hats, etc. Although this jacket has great underarm venting, it is still probably too warm for days above freezing. If you run cold, this thing is sweet. I normally wear XL in jackets but found the XXL to fit best in the Andermatt.
Pros:
  • waterproof
  • warm
  • cozy
Cons:
  • not for warm spring days
Best Used for:
  • lift served skiing
