Most Helpful Positive Review Nice looking bag but could use improvements (2017)
Loading the water bladder is a pain with load straps in the way - you don't have to undo it, just pull them to the side. Also the bag had a strange bottleneck right in the middle creating sort of a lower and upper pocket. You kinda have to force things down into the lower pocket of storage.

Osprey Talon 11 Pack

by Mike, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on July 30, 2022
I was looking for a small hydration pack to use when running or biking. I had borrowed a similar Osprey pack for a month long bike trip. Most of the competing packs are not made in a large/extra large size and this one fits my longer torso. The pack is well made with a lifetime guarantee. It has multiple adjustments for a tight fit, including a waist belt and chest strap. The only thing that disappointed me was the bladder compartment. It a is narrow and tight space with a bladder hanging strap that is hard to close. I found that a lock tie and small threaded carabiner made using it manageable.
Pros:
  • Large/Extra large size fits longer torsos.
Cons:
  • Hydration bladder compartment is tight and difficult to use.
Best Used for:
  • Short hikiing, biking and running trips.

Perfection in a simple daypack

by Jeff B., Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on March 21, 2016
One main compartment, two external stretchy side pockets, room for two one liter water bottles in the bladder holder, a bungee external jacket spot, trekking pole(s) holder, and two small zippered pockets is all that is needed for a 10 essential day hike! Room enough for those extra layers, lunch, snacks, hip pockets for chap stick tissue , camera, and a ditty bag. All in small 11 liter bag? Perfect!

Great summer pack

Looking for a small alternative to a larger day pack, I choose the Talon 11. It is compact, light and comfortable. Osprey hits the target on fit and comfort - I like how air can circulate about the interface with your bod, keeping things dry. This is strictly a fair weather day hiker - if you need rain gear in addition to light clothing, food, water and minimalist toys, look to a slightly large

perfect for mountain bikig

Great lightweight pack that just floats on your back. Mucho more comfortable and stable than my Camelback Mule and more room to boot. Able to carry tools, food, and extra clothes without moving around on every pedal stroke or jumping up your back when catching air. Be aware that S/M was WAY to small for me at 5'11" so went with M/L.

This pack is SWEET! A great pack for day hikes or mountain biking with ample room for various tools, jacket, and lunch. I really like the hydration pocket and its easy access!

This pack also stays pretty low profile and close to your body making active pursuits much more enjoyable.

Awesome pack

Used it for international travel as well as day hikes. Love Ospreys because of their mesh back that keeps me cool. Nice features are the lightweight material, hoops on zippers for better grasping, camelback readyness is good. Wish it had a couple more pockets but then it would not be as light. Rain cover is a must as material is pretty thin and if wet it would soak my gear, extra clothing insi
