Most Helpful Positive Review Flex On!
I've been wearing Flex-Tex gaiters, this is my third pair, since their debut in Schoeller Dry Skin about a dozen years ago. This latest iteration is improved yet again! The repositioned more weather repellant storm flap, stiffened lace hook backing, and cinching tops that accommodate anything from bare skin to insulated pants make these the best four season gaiters on the market. No, higher with laminated fabrics would not be progress. Enjoy pebble, precipitation, spruce needle, prickle free hiking without sweating to death every day. Good gear is ranked by cost per use, buy these!

Awesome Gaiters!

Purchased these to cover mid length Salomon hiking boots. The under foot strap is made of a plastic/rubbery material that isn't as flexible as I expected but has not been an issue. I purchased the small/medium as I have size 8 boots. If I could do it over, I would probably go with the next size up, as I have to really make them stretch to get around my boots. Once on the size isn't an issue. I like the drawstring on the top of the gaiter very much. pulls the gaiter tight without being too tight. I anticipate these lasting a very long time.

Weird velcro configuration

The worksmanship of this item is beyond reproach. Unfortunately the execution suffers from two flaws. First, for an ankle height gaiter these are too heavy duty. More importantly, the way the velcro closure is configured it very inconvenient and highly fiddly to put on and off. The tabs that secure the closure at the top and bottom, while a good idea, stick securely on the velcro below them and make it a pain to close the gaiters. The velcro strap itself is off center and requires A LOT of care to secure properly.

Good stuff

well conceived design and strong materials. Almost to strong! These little gaiters are mighty, and will stand up to some serious abuse. The took me around mt. Hood, notorious for its drops down into scree covered glacial crossings. Too much for the UL hiker, but great for most other folks.
