Petzl Chicane
A great addition to the climbing gear you might have. An absolute necessity on SRT climbing but I'll even use it on DRT descents. It makes the descent on DRT real smooth and controlled. I liked it so much I got 2 of them, along with other gear, in order to get my kids climbing.

Petzel Chicane
I climb SRT, so Petzel recommends using this in conjunction with the zigzag. The total setup with chicane and zigzag was about $440, which is a little pricey, but I’ve never felt so safe ascending and descending. It’s worth the investment in my opinion. The chicane is mid-line attachable, which is a plus.

Great Addition to the Gear Rack
If you have a Zig-Zag or are thinking about getting a Zig-Zag, take the plunge and buy the Chicane as well! The Zig-Zag with the chicane make for an unstoppable srt-system. Easy to learn and use, durable, and easy to equip/unequip on the system. Best part, you can take the chicane off or put it on, mid rope. No need to feed the rope all the way through the system. Makes for easy transitions from drt to srt.
