Corey's Review of Petzl GRIGRI 2 Assisted Braking Belay Device
My wife and I recently started climbing. The class we took at our local gym was awesome and a great first step into this fun sport. The belay device the instructor used was a basic ATC belay device. Nothing fancy.
After speaking to a few of our friends who are avid rock climbers (professional and sponsored)...they both suggested the GriGri 2.
After only 2 climbs so far, we love the device. Especially, the assisted braking. While we haven't climbed with it a ton, we are already loving the purchase.

Pros:
- Wife loves the color
- Assisted braking
- Fool proof
- Easy to use for beginners
Cons:
- Maybe price but you get what you pay for

- Beginners and more advanced
