GriGri 2 - Just the Facts!

Extremely user friendly for sport climbing especially with my 9.4 and 9.8 mm ropes. Still have to pay close attention especially with smaller, newer ropes as the locking mechanism is delayed without hand pressure/restraint on feeding side of rope, even on this device. Excellent multi-use product

Love the GriGri II. Multi-function as a rappel, belay and an ascending cam device (although this is not an intended use per Petzl). Can be a little jerky due to the sensitive friction action, takes some practice. Wish It had a provision to "leash" the device so it can't be dropped when removing from the rope.

Takes the edge off

Treat it like a manual belay device it's fantastic for that unexpected fall on long climbs. It takes the edge off knowing that if the belayer becomes unconscious because of an accident that the GriGri 2 will still have your back.

Works great

Shipped on time - the GriGri 2 is tested product, I've used others a lot and it works well. So far no problems with this one obviously. I have multiple ATCs and a Trango Cinch. This is a little easier for new belayers to use than the Cinch and more idiot-proof than the ATCs.
