Frank W.'s Review of Petzl Pixa 3 Headlamp
Purchased this for a mountaineering trip because the gear list was specific about bringing a headlamp that uses AA batteries (AAA batteries apparently drain faster).
The headlamp is considerably heavier than my Petzl Tikka but it definitely feels more solid. I like how the lamp turns in on itself to prevent it from turning on in your pack. The three beams it throws are all pretty bright and had me missing a red light in camp.
All in all, I hardly used this on the trip because I was already sleeping by the time it got dark. Not a bad piece of gear though. It's gotten some use around the house. It has some nice bells and whistles but it does come with extra weight.
