Most Helpful Positive Review Perfect pants
Slightly stretchy, cnvertible, very well made. Perfect combination of light weight and durability, these are my new favorite pants. Fit true to size at the waist and 34 length is perfect for me. I'm 6'2" and sometimes find 34 length pants in some brands too short. The width of the thigh is perfect, not too narrow like the standard Zion non-convertible pants. The thigh cut is the reason I bought convertible and not standard. Hope that helps.

Comfortable Versatile Pant

by Michael, from CT, United States Written on April 30, 2020
The pants are great quality, very durable and comfortable. The crotch gusset allows more freedom of movement, and ventilation keeps them cool. They are passable in a casual situation, which is a plus, but I wouldn't purchase them with that in mind. Waist runs a but small, and the leg openings seem very large, not bell bottomed, but definitely a generous straight cut with little-to-no taper.
Pros:
  • Ventilated
  • gusseted crotch
  • Water
Cons:
  • Runs a little small
Best Used for:
  • Hiking & casual wear

XC Backpacker

by Xc, from CO, United States Written on March 11, 2020
I own 3 pairs of convertible zions. I spend a lot of time off trail with a pack on my back. The Zion is my go to pants for any season as I adjust my under insulation or shell for inclement Rocky Mountain weather. The favorable features is the fabric dries fast and after a break in period it is one of the quietest fabrics for moving through brush. It is also relatively durable. The poor design aspect of the pants are the legs of the shorts are too long with the leg zipper near the knee and the fly zipper at the crotch is too short making it a PITA to go to the bathroom like a man.
Pros:
  • fabric
Cons:
  • Design

They need a size short inseam

by Junior, from WA, United States Written on December 11, 2019
I love my regular Prana Zion pants. If only they made the convertibles in a size short inseam like they do the regular Zion's. But excellent pants overall. They fit great without being to baggy, and have great stretch material. My favorite go to outdoor pants.
Pros:
  • Fit great
  • Stretch fabric is very comfortable
Cons:
  • Don't come in size short inseam
Best Used for:
  • Outdoors or casual wear

Comfortable, durable, convertible, what more could you ask for?

by David H., Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on October 22, 2019
Incredibly comfortable as they stretch a bit, I'm a muscular guy and often hiking pants are too tight around the thighs. Here we have an easy fit, plus I love the zip off legs so I can be in shorts when I need them. Legendary prAna durability and style, lots of pockets, and they were on sale.
Pros:
  • Fit and comfort
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hiking and adventure
Would recommend: Yes

Great fit, great pants

by David Keener, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on June 2, 2019
These pants are mostly nylon with a smidge of spandex. But you might not know it from looking at them. The fabric is as comfortable as cotton and seems fairly sturdy. I say 'seems' cause I just got them and have yet to try them. This is the only reason I didn't yet give a full 5 stars.

Fit-wise, I ordered 32x32, which is what I normally wear, and the fit was perfect. A bit loose in the waist, but that's what I have to live with cause 31x32 is an uncommon size. Luckily, these have an adjustable waistband already built in.

The cargo pockets are a bit unique. The tops are zipper rather than the run-of-the-mill velcro flaps, and on top of that, there are access zippers on the frontside of the pockets. I can't really imagine using these extra access zippers in terms of my usual adventuring, but they would definitely come in handy while hanging on the side of a cliff.

I have only three (minor) complaints.
1. No ankle zipper, so removal of pant legs requires removal of boot. Then again, if my boots were covered in mud and whatnot, I'd probably pull them off anyway.

2. Pant leg zippers are not color-coded. I say this only cause I have a pair of White Sierras, which are color-coded, and now that I know how convenient it is, I'm a bit spoiled. XD

3. Leg zippers are on the inside of the leg. Personally, I prefer them on the outside of the leg like my White Sierras. But this is the most minor of all of my "complaints".

Bottom Line: These are excellent pants and I would recommend t...

Sweet Convertable

by Sam, from CA, United States Written on November 28, 2017
Great pants for hiking and backpacking. Plan to use these in the Sierra’s this summer. Have another pair of Prana’s made of same material that roll up. Those are nice as well but wanted these for the shorts option. Length of shorts are perfect. Fit like board shorts. All around nice quality pants.

Nice and comfortable all seasons

by Listersen, from NY, United States Written on October 12, 2017
The Prana pants has been worn year round, and it is very comfortable for doing some hiking on the trails or around Central Park. It is also tough enough to be doing some light DIY choirs around the house.

Nice BUT

by Fred T., Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on August 10, 2017
Really nice fabric and the waist fit is as expected. The thighs and knee area tend to bind and rub. It is just a little tight.

Most comfortable pants

by John S., Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on September 4, 2016
Love the stretch material used. Consider these anti-fatigue hiking pants because you are not fighting unforgiving 100% nylon type. These pants move and stretch with your body.
