Most Helpful Positive Review Pretty useful item
I got this stove from Camp Saver a couple of months ago. Except for the fact that the piezo igniter didn't work, everything else has been OK, and the listed boil time of 2:45 for 1 pint is accurate. The MSR Windburner stove would boil the same amount of water in 2:15, so it is faster. It would also ...

Great cooking system from Pimus

by Denys S., Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on August 1, 2023
I have the Primus lite+ and I like it very much. It worked very well for one or two people. It was perfect for boiling water. Very fast and efficient. Everything packs as one. I do some hiking but mostly motorcycle travel.

Very Pleased

Really appreciate this site and Co. Very easy to use and a vast inventory! I bought this stove for a solo trip later this fall. It’s perfect. I’m not an ultra-lighter but this definitely lightens the pack!

Quick boiling

by T.J., from OR, United States Written on June 6, 2018
This unit comes with a tripod and hanging lanyard, so it's versatile for those times that you can't find an even surface. If you buy the small fuel canister, all items (less tripod) can fit into the pot. Boils water very quickly, but due to lack of flame adjustment, I don't believe this would be suitable for general cooking. Great for mountain house meals and coffee. The pour spot is a little iffy, sometimes it spills down the side, but when you get the hang of it, it's not too bad. A well built unit from the originators of the primus stove. Great quality and highly recommended.
Pros:
  • Quality build
  • Packability
  • fast boiling
Cons:
  • Pour spout
Best Used for:
  • boiling water
  • Backpacking

high quality, windproof,

by Gary, Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on February 21, 2018
I just used this cooking system for 2 weekend, The system is packed very compact. The design is very clean and make it easy to use. It performed well in windy weather, but not strong wind. It save fuel in someway but the boiling speed is not too high.
The pot is bit small , i think it can only boil water for one person. It will be better with a larger pot.
Pros:
  • Windproof
  • pack small
  • high quality and reliable
Cons:
  • pot is too small
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking
  • HIKING
  • Solo
Would recommend: Yes

Not bad Stove

by opp, Verified Owner from Taiwan Written on January 6, 2018
This stove worked fine.
The boil time was slower than the other stoves I have used like JETBOIL.
Yes, they give you little screws so you can use other pots, but they seemed really unstable.
The stove is pretty cool, and works well. I have had no issue with the stove lighting up with the piezo igniter, and have always had a steady flame.
I am satisfied with the sale price.
Take it on the journey, take a break and have a cup of coffee
Pros:
  • Works great
  • Light and cheap
  • fast boiling
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • HIKING
  • Adventure Travel

Good alternative to jet boil

by Dave J, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on December 20, 2017
I was able to pick this burner up on sale and for the price I paid I am very happy. At normal price I think the Jet boil Flash and MiniMo cooking systems have this burner beat in almost every way. I dont have any issues with this burner so far I just believe both Jet boil and the MSR burners cook faster, offer models with simmer control, and the MSR is more wind resistant. If you can get this burner on a good sale it will perform almost as well as its competition and is definitely a good option.
Pros:
  • Price, compact, positive locking
Cons:
  • Not superior to other brands, full price is not competitive
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking

Quality little stove

by Aaron J., Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on November 1, 2017
If you get this on sale it’s a no brainer. Likes: 1. Lid has a band of silicon so you can grab it without scorching your digits. 2. Build quality is stellar! 3. Burner-pot interface is smooth and tight unlike some of the jetboils I’ve used. 4. Handle and insulated pot cover are digit savers as well. 5. Handle loops over the top of the pot so you can hang the stove during use, very cool! Dislike- 1. According to online testers it takes 30-60 seconds longer that some competitors to boil a pot of water. In my kitchen it boiled 500ml of cold water in 2:20 so really not a big deal I think.
