This is a form fitting vest, as vests should be, vests are intended as base to mid layers. The sizing is proper, no re-sizing smalls into mediums as the girth of the population increases. I’m lean, athletic built and the small, with a measured 19.5” across the chest (39” around) was form fitting. Unfortunately, I had to return it as it has a drop tail which would be uncomfortable when sitting/ driving to my outdoor pursuits. If it had double zippers, it could alleviate this issue, but it doesn’t. Overall, I think most people would be very happy with this garment, I’m just a little pickier than most.
Pros:
Properly Sized
Form fitting
Minimal bulk
Cons:
Drop tail
No double zipper
Best Used for:
Layering for cool days
Would recommend: Yes

This is a very well-made thermal vest - perfect for active pursuits (hiking, trekking, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, etc)
It is not super warm, like denser filled down vests (see RAB's "Microlight" vest for an example), but is very breathable due to synthetic fill and softshell side panels; and makes a good mid-layer for cold winter days or an outer layer for more cool spring/fall outings.
It is very tight-fitting. Consider sizing-up if you don't want a super form-fitting vest. I'm a 40" chest and ordered the Medium based upon RAB's sizing guide, and although it fit the way RAB probably intends, it was just too tight-fitting for me. So I exchanged for a Large.
I purchased this for nordic skiing, primarily. To be used as a mid-layer under a softshell. The breathability and range of motion/stretch of this vest was the main selling point for me.
Pros:
Light weight
Packable
stretch panels
Cons:
Tight fit
Best Used for:
Back country ski
Mountaineeriing, Hiking, backpacking
Would recommend: Yes
