I've used these once, bushwacking in the White mountains of New Hampshire. I originally bought the OR summer gaiters but they would bunch up like an accordion. I liked the idea of a tightening strap around the calf and a durable strap for the heel. The only thing I didn't like was the tightening strap, occasionally the excess would get caught on branches.

Excellent little gaiters. Outperforms Gtex in breathability by miles. No more overheated feet, and nothing gets into the boot. If the boot straps wears out, simply tie a piece of cord through the velcro strap openings.
