excellent jacket, unique characteristics...
I wanted a waterproof lightweight shell jacket for backpacking, bad weather hiking, maybe even mountain biking in bad weather. I have tried 3 Gore PacLite jackets over the last few years (2 from Mt Hardwear, Marmot Minimalist). While they worked well when new, all of them delaminated on me after a couple years. The Marmot, while otherwise excellent, seemed to wet out quickly the fabric absorbed water and blocked breathability in shoulders despite being brand new (tried washing, DWR application).

Great jacket for warmer weather
This jacket is more breathable than the Newton Jacket that I previously own, which is very suitable for warmer weather. I haven't tried wearing it in the rain yet, but I really like it already. If i'm correct, Rab uses the DVStorm eVent fabric this time, which has the best breathablity.
I star short becos I haven't tried using it in the rain, and thus won't I know if it will perform well in rainy weather.

Muztag Jacket Review
Before I begin, it is important to note that I am an employee of Equip Outdoors UK, which owns Rab. That being said, I am truly psyched on the Muztag Jacket and the new eVent DVstorm membrane!
Testing: I tested the Muztag in a wide variety of conditions and used it in RMNP and the Front Range for ice climbing, a handful of days backcountry and resort skiing and stood around in rough conditions for hours at an event. I was able to get a great impression of the piece.
Pros: The DVstorm membrane on the Muztag is noticeably more breathable than my last eVent shell. The jacket proved as windproof as Gore-Pro and shed water like a champ. After off-widthing and arm-barring in a sharp gneiss crack, I noticed zero abrasion and was sold on the overall durability.
Cons: I felt like the material was a bit noisy.
Fit: I am 6’0”, weigh 160 lbs and the Large was the perfect fit for me.
Layering: The key here is to use a mid-layer that doesn’t detract from the Muztag’s breathablity.
