I have had the jacket for about a month now and have used it mostly biking, hiking, and hanging around in Southern Chile. It has been warm here but at night it has been perfect and the hood is amazing. I also wore it running in 10 degree F during a wet snow storm and it was like lightweight armor.
For me at 5'10', 33" waist, and about 172lbs the medium fits like a performance piece. I like it best when I have only a t-shirt underneath so far.
Why buy this piece of gear over others? The hood, the durability that comes from the weight, and the comfort. But really, the hood is amazing.

The jacket felt very much like how I was expecting. However, the size was a bit off and I had a hard time getting in touch with campsaver regarding the exchanging policy.

The sizing seems right on for me, as I prefer trim fit to reduce cold air pockets. The hood fits nicely over a slim winter beanie. Used this for the first time with wicking short sleeve tee shirt base, light weight merino/ polypro long sleeve mid layer, a\nd the Rab Shadow hoodie over top hiking New Hampshire hilly wooded trail in late November at 34 degrees F with a small pack. Wife has one too.
We both really like how this works for cooler day hikes.

I finally found the perfect mid-layer. Such a great product. If you are at all on the fence, let me just say it is well worth the money.

The fabric is thicker than a wind pro sweater that I have seen from another brand. The zipper is European style which is on the left side, and the style is very trim fit. I used to wear size small but needed to exchange for a size medium. Need to size up before you buy.

This is a great fleece that feels like a soft shell on the outside, but has very soft comfy fleece on the inside. It's definitely not the lightest weight fleece out there, but it's also very warm. The cut of this piece is what stands out to me. It's got long arms with thumb loops and is long at the torso, with a slight drop-tail. The torso has a very athletic, form fitting, shape. I think thi

This is my first RAB fleece. The second one was the RAB Logan. I've had the Shadow Hoodie for a couple of years and used it for both winter and summer hiking. The Shadow Hoodie is pretty good for winter down to -10F when hiking. When hiking in the winter,I will use a base layer underneath and if its windy a shell above. The shell is rarely necessary below tree line unless its snowing or raining.

I use this jacket for almost any type of weather or activity from going out to a quick dinner with my girlfriend to climbing in the canyons. It is lightweight and easy to travel with, but heavy enough to keep you warm. Sleeves are a bit long for casual wear, but are a good length for activities like climbing or skiing.
