I've been buying hiking and climbing boots for over forty years. The Alp Flow Mid GTX boots are by far the most comfortable boots I've ever bought. I bought them for hiking in Scotland. I live in Colorado, and never needed a GTX boot. But Scotland promised hiking in rain so I purchased these. Wore them for two five mile break-in hikes before leaving for the UK. They gave me no problems. Then, I wore them all day every day for two weeks: on the plane, in town, on the trail (I travel light). They felt better than my trail runners at home. They're not built for edging or kicking steps in a snow field, but if you need a boot for the trail that stays dry and grips rock, mud and dirt, these are great. Plus, the lacing system gives lots of options for sizing and these are they only boots or shoes I own that the laces never get loose or come undone without double knotting. And yes, they kept me dry.
