Reviews & Ratings for Salewa Alp Flow Mid GTX Hiking Boot - Mens
— 6 reviews — Page 1
This is my second pair of Salewas and they have become my go-to brand, when it comes to deployment gear. They are light, comfortable, and breathe extremely well in hot conditions like Iraq ( work as a Security Contractor). My previous pair of Salewas were the Alp Trainers.. And after 2 years, they are still going strong. Had to buy the Alp Flows for the mere fact I couldn't pass up the awesome price CampSaver had on them. If you want boots that will last a long time in austere conditions, are light, Goretex, breathable and comfortable, then accept no substitutions! These boots rock!

I first heard about these boots from my dad who has had his for about 5-6 years! He loves them and so when I told him I was looking for some hiking boots he told me that these are the best hands down! Immediately after getting them, my wife and it took our dogs on a 6 mile hike. The boots performed great! I had no blisters or discomfort during the entire hike! Also the grip is amazing! I will be getting another pair when these wear out. I also plan on getting my wife a pair as well!
Pros:
Great grip, no blister guaranteed
Cons:
NONE
Best Used for:
hiking and adventure

Ankle protection, Vibram sole, waterproof, comfortable, fit true to size, quality construction - the only thing I can't comment on yet is long-term durability. Worth the price - even better if you can get them on sale!

These boots look great and feel good on. The only problem with them is they are very noisy when walking. It is extremely loud when it's quiet out. Not sure how to get rid of this and hope it goes away with time but I do enjoy them.

I've been buying hiking and climbing boots for over forty years. The Alp Flow Mid GTX boots are by far the most comfortable boots I've ever bought. I bought them for hiking in Scotland. I live in Colorado, and never needed a GTX boot. But Scotland promised hiking in rain so I purchased these. Wore them for two five mile break-in hikes before leaving for the UK. They gave me no problems. Then, I wore them all day every day for two weeks: on the plane, in town, on the trail (I travel light). They felt better than my trail runners at home. They're not built for edging or kicking steps in a snow field, but if you need a boot for the trail that stays dry and grips rock, mud and dirt, these are great. Plus, the lacing system gives lots of options for sizing and these are they only boots or shoes I own that the laces never get loose or come undone without double knotting. And yes, they kept me dry.

Best boots I've ever owned! Great adjustments to fit narrow feet with plenty of toe box room. The Gore-Tex Surround technology keeps my feet bone dry after hours of strenuous hiking.
