I rarely write reviews, but I was so pleased with these shoes I wanted to share my experience. I needed some shoes with ankle support for hiking and walking in inclement weather, however many of the higher top shoes/boots are uncomfortable around my ankle. The soft attached gaiter looked as though it might be different-and it was! These shoes were very comfortable the first time I wore them. It was also important to me to have a waterproof shoe and the Gore-Tex really fits the bill. Walking the wet Oregon trails is no problem in these. Great, well-designed shoe.
