I ordered the Smartwool Base Layers for my husband. They are the highest quality on the market. They are in short supply because they are so sought after. Campsaver had them in stock. I placed an order that they filled in a very reasonable amount of time. They arrived in perfect condition. Great experience all around!

Good experience

The material of the clothes is very comfortable, warm and breathable, and suitable for a long time. Since then, he has become a fan of this brand. The size is very accurate. There is no need to buy a smaller size on purpose. This is very good, and the version is also very slim. Daily commuting and occasional hiking are suitable.

Excellent Base Layer for all sorts of activities

by Joel W, from IL, United States Written on January 25, 2021
I've acquired a few of these 250 base layers now and its my go to piece in cool and cold weather. I use this layer for late fall/winter cycling. Learned my lesson the hard way wearing a cotton long sleeve shirt and a nylon jacket. It was around 20-25F and windy and I was sweating and freezing at the same time. Not fun at all when you're miles out from home base. No longer an issue with this 250 base layer and appropriate breathable/vented jacket. Does a great job keeping your core temp regulated. I'm 6'0" 220 lbs 38" waist, 44" chest, athletic build and a large fits well as intended for a base layer. The 250's run a bit larger/longer than the equivalent 150 base layers.
Pros:
  • warm and breathable for active use
  • smell resistant
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Base layer
  • Outdoor activities

250 Merino Base layers

by Andrew O., Verified Owner from CT, United States Written on January 7, 2021
Very comfortable and perfect fit! Will be an excellent ski and winter camping hiking layer. Weight is right, only downside is the steep price, but you gotta pay for quality, especially these days. Weight to warmth is hard to match.
Pros:
  • QUALITY
Cons:
  • Price
Best Used for:
  • Outdoors

Great merino.Love my Smartwool base layers and will recommend to my friends. Super comfortable, breathable and warm. I will recommend to people who like to be comfortable and hate the stink of polypro.
