best stove for me ever
This is not the lightest stove, but it is about the lightest stove with a built-in igniter and wind shrould. To top it off, it works in winter conditions. I put the stove and an iso-butane caniter in the freezer for about 6 hours. When I took it out and lit it, it started like a champ as if the stov...

Did not live up to expectations
Used this product on a mildly cold, 24deg morning trip side by side with MSR Pocket Rocket. The MSR did actually better in the cold than the Soto. The Soto almost stopped working at one point. The Soto did perform well once temps were over 40 or so.

Best Stove ever
I have a SOTO OD-1RX also.
But the the SOTO OD-1R control the heat more accurate.
It's important because I need the fire to be very small to make the rice.
I have failed for several time with other stoves and the SOTO OD-1R make it.
So I will recommend it if you need the fire to be small and stable.

Best backpacking stove around!
I have owned one of these for the last 10 years, and on a recent trip I used it along with another brand stove. The Soto boiled the water 3 minutes faster, and had a better flame adjustment. I was so impressed I went home and purchased 2 more Soto's. You will be very happy with this little dynamo.
Pros:
- flame adjustment
Cons:
- NONE
Best Used for:
- Back packing

Great Lightweight Reliable Stove
I recently purchased the Soto OD-1RX Wind Master stove with the 4-prong flex pot support attachment from CampSaver. I was very pleased that the basic ground shipping offered by CampSaver served to speed the stove to my home in time for a recently 4-day solo canoe trip in the Adirondacks.
The stove is lightweight (2.3 oz with 3-prong support) and very efficient as it boils water quickly. I have to admit, I was surprised to learn just how fast it can boil water. It performed great.
The on/off simmer valve works well and has a steady/reliable low flame, as well as a very good high flame. I think its clever piezo igniter design is fabulous as it immediately fires up the stove. Its wind-blocking feature actually performed well in a variable 5 to 7 mph wind. I found that using the stove for breakfast and dinner for 3.5 days burned less than 4-ounces of fuel (Gas-One Butane/Propane canister gas). The 4-prong support is an absolute must if you’re cooking with 1 to 2 liter pots and 8+ inch frying pans. I found that I’d likely use the 4-prong support most of the time with the 3-prong standing in for day-time tea and soup mix meals. In light of its great performance during my Adirondack trip, I plan to use this stove on all my 3-season trips. I highly recommend this stove and the 4-prong flex pot support.

1,000 extra BTUs
I have used a SnowPeak GigaPower for many years and trips. It is a great stove, but for 1,000 extra BTU’s The WindMaster is going to save fuel, save space and weight, and stay out longer.
