Much Needed Upgrade!

I've been using the original Steripen Adventurer for several years. It is an excellent concept, however, it has always been extremely finicky. Water that was too cold or any agitation and the water sensors would tell the purifier to shut off before the cycle was complete. It would more often than not take 4 or 5 tries to get a complete cycle. I finally had enough and ordered the Adventurer Opt

Researching your purchases always pays off. I found this beauty and it surpassed my hopes. My buddy is a water operator and states: "This purifies water as good if not better than any treatment plant". Just be sure the water is not too turbid (cloudy) Even if it is slighly opaque just run it twice and it should be good to go. Supplied water to my group, 8Liters in under 15 minutes.

works great

I've only had it a few weeks but seems to work like a charm. I've had no problems at altitude but my highest altitude so far has only been 10,000. It seems to work well on very clear water too. I've had none of the issue that others reported with that.

I like the size and ease of use. Plus it's nice to get a bottle of ready in just a few moments when you're thirsty!
