Iv owned this compass for around 4 years and never leave it at home when I go bush.
The construction is made from solid thick plastic and the mirror is well protected. I have not been the most gentle with this compass (of course I treat it with a degree of care) and it has stood up amazingly well. I also often keep it under my shirt (tied around my neck) and its been covered in perspiration on se
