The width is refreshing. the valve is an improvement but not a game changer. - Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Sleeping Pad - Past Season

Emmanuel Vincent's Review of Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite Sleeping Pad - Past Season
I've been using xlites for years. The 20" width of the regular was the only nitpick I had with it. This new regular wide model solves that with flying colors for those of us who do not need a 77" long pad but crave that sweet 25" width. The noise is the same as it has been for years. It does not bother me. The valve is iffy for me. Inflation is definitely improved with the one way valve. While the pump sack works ok it isn't too efficient. The volume seems small so it takes an endless amount of "bag fulls" to fully inflate. The mating seal between the two isn't concrete either. As long as you don't get too excited while inflating it stays put. Personally, I'll continue to either inflate by mouth or use my compactor bag holding a seal over the valve by hand and inflating that way. Deflation is definitely a step in the right direction but it is still not as fast as the dump valves on sea to summit pads, expeds, and the like. The air does escape faster but you still have a bit of pad rolling to expel all the air. I don't understand why all pads do not use the one way inflate valves with the dump pull seal. It seems like the perfect system. Other than these slight nitpicks on it this pad is just like the xlites most have loved (or hated) over the years. The width in the regular size is worth the upgrade. The valve, while an improvement, is not worth it if your xlite is still going strong.
