Nice colors, they snug fine with a lot of room on the toebox. I have tried them once, so I can't tell much more but so far so good. The design has a 5 mm drop so it is good if you wanna feel more "grounded".

Was impressed by their light weight. They fit comfortably but differently than what I’m used to but in a good way, being that the soel is stiffer. I run on dirt roads and the tread is perfect for it, I can stomp out mud easily. The extra toe room helps with tying tight and not scrunching you’re toes which I think helps with my wide feet. The drop is good, i was discuraged by my first zero drop pair which hurt my heals and cramped my calf. These are my new favorite pair.

By chance I ordered a pair of Ultraventures (also by Topo)
Last week I covered 46 miles in a with over 8k of vert in the AZ mountains with not a single blister or discomfort.
I then noticed that the MTN Racer model was about to drop. It seemed like a no brainer to give this model a try.
I found them on CS on sale, bonus!!, I got them a couple of days ago and tried them out this morning for six miles.
Well this model is just that bit better! Its lighter, uses megagrip compound and feels ever so slightly conformed to the foot, in a good way.
As described this shoe allows your forefoot to spread out, but the mid and heel feel totally locked, no sloppiness. On some nasty techy downs, my feet feel planted and confident with ample traction. The MTN Racers feel that bit more nimble over the Ultraventures.
I always order a half size up due to the nature of running ultras, my feet are slightly wide, and over the miles they do swell.
This is a perfect balance of foot lock, space and comfort. I cant comment for other regions, but for the desert they'd be tough to beat.
This isn't a long term review, but based on my experience with the Ultraventures, I'll give'em the nod.
I highly recommend giving these a try.
I know that some people are ambassadors, I am not one of them.
I've already ordered a second pair
Pros:
- very comfortable, foot shape just works, awesome grip
Best Used for:
- trail running, ultra distances
