Tim H.'s Review of Trangia 27-7 Ultralight Hard Anodized Outdoor Stove
I was introduced to Trangia camping stoves while living in Denmark. A friend of mine had one, and I was really impressed by it. (He had the larger model, but other than size, it was exactly the same.) It packs very small, is super sturdy, wind proof by default, stable on uneven ground, heats quickly, and cleans easily. It's everything I could want in a camp stove.
When I got back to the states, I looked around for one, but most stores don't sell them. The stoves that are offered by most trail/hiking stores in the states are, in my opinion, not very good. They're expensive, overly complicated, prone to wind, unstable/top-heavy, the fuel is expensive, and generally just a pain.
I get the feeling that the Swedes have spent years perfecting the design of the Trangia, because everything just works. I can't imagine every wanting another stove. This one is just fantastic.
