The Neoshell does indeed seem to be much more breathable than Goretex, that combined with a trim fit, some stretch and light weight make this a very versatile jacket. It's replacing a 10 year old Arcteryx shell and I do have to say that I liked the zippers better on the Arcteryx, they are east to pull, never snag and are waterproof. These seem to snag while zipping up, I'm not yet sure about water
