Very good fit, bright color. Impressive water resistance, good breathability (don't have a GTX to compare).

So far so good! I have not had the chance to really test of the Switch but here are my initial impressions:
1) Build quality is excellent.
2) I was wary of using this jacket in warm summer rain but so far it has been perfect. Not too warm, not too cold when the weather drops.
3) I really appreciate how the coat does not feel clammy when directly against your skin.
4) The pit zips are wonderful when biking.
5) The hood fits nicely although I with the brim was a bit sturdier.
6) The water repellency is phenomenal.
7) Packs really small and very light.
Looking forward to more adventures with this jacket! I'm bringing this baby backpacking and trekking to Europe next week.

I just got the Switch LT Hoody, and put it to use the next day.
No, I wasn't hiking the Andes, slogging through the rainforest, or scraping by for survival in a tropical hurricane.
I was tailgating at a football game (damn you, Scarlet Knights!)
BUT! It was 40 degrees and POURING the whole day. I was probably out in the rain for about 8 hours, and I never felt a drop through the jacket. Like others have mentioned, it's made to be extra breathable, so unlike some other waterproof shells, you won't retain as much heat, but I never felt a "breeze" in the jacket either.
I can only hope it holds up on the contact points once I use it under a heavy pack, but so far, it's given me no cause to think it won't.
One other note, I got the orange. It's REALLY ORANGE. I was nicknamed "Highlighter" by everyone at the tailgate. I don't know that I'd use it around the city because it's so attention grabbing, but I'll definitely appreciate the color when I'm with my girl snowboarding. Now it'll be impossible for her to lose me.

I just have to say Westcomb makes high quality gear, with great attention to detail.
The combination of breathability and water proof is unbelievable! This fabric is years ahead of Gortex.
Whether I'm snowboarding in a bitter cold winter or hiking in the summer, there is no other jacket on the market better. I personally prefer the ventilation over anything else. One of the lighter weight if not l

outstanding jacket!
after purchasing, realized that main zipper gets stuck frequently on the storm flap.
zipper itself is not that 'smooth' pulling up and down, not a big deal.
westcomb repaired by stiffening storm flap. problem fixed. small negative to have to pay for shipping to canada for inherent problem with jacket.

The Neoshell does indeed seem to be much more breathable than Goretex, that combined with a trim fit, some stretch and light weight make this a very versatile jacket. It's replacing a 10 year old Arcteryx shell and I do have to say that I liked the zippers better on the Arcteryx, they are east to pull, never snag and are waterproof. These seem to snag while zipping up, I'm not yet sure about water

Took this jacket up Mt. Rainier last week for it's first use and it performed WONDERFULLY. Hiking up to Camp Muir (10,000 feet) we were in a cloud cover at about 28-30 degrees Fahrenheit. Cold enough to need a jacket, but the level of activity and heat output from my body requires a jacket that can BREATHE. This jacket BREATHES. The soft, stretchy new Polartec Neoshell was more breathable than my

I took this jacket out for a multi-day hike recently and it was the only thing that came back dry. I can't compare it to other similar materials, but the jacket worked great. It rained for two days straight and this is about the only thing that came back dry. Perfectly dry! I almost can't believe it.
The jacket didn't make me overheat. This is the supposed main benefit of Neoshell over Goret
