The Westcomb Switch LT Hoody is an alpine jacket with pit zips and large Napoleon pockets. This jacket is soft and feather light yet offers superb wind and water protection without sacrificing comfort and breathability.
Features of Westcomb Switch LT Hoody - Mens:
Fixed Storm Hood - The 3-point adjustable hood is roomy enough to wear over a helmet, yet cinches comfortably down when worn without one. Bungee cord on each side of the hood and a third in back simply adjust with one-handed ease, keeping your other hand ready for the unexpected.
Adjustable waist system - Easy to adjust with one hand; just pull the cinch-cord within the hand pockets to lock out the elements. Press the one-handed release on the outside hem to loosen the jacket back up.
High collar with Velour lined chin-guard - Provides comfort and protection from the elements for your neck and face.
2 Napoleon pocket - deep storage pockets provide easy access to essential gear.
1 Bicep pocket - convenient easy access stash pocket for small items.
Internal media pocket - Easy to access pocket keeps your MP3 player, iPhone, or other valuables secure and dry.
Velcro cuff closure - Keeps snow, wind, and rain from creeping in right at the wrists.
Venting zippers - For those moments of extreme heat generating activity, conveniently located underarm zippers open the jacket to maximize air circulation to cool the body's core. Micro Seam Taping - Creates the thinnest waterproof boundary while creating a more pliable seam without the added weight.
Laminated zippers, waist hem & wrist hem - Super durable fabric adhesive affixes these critical areas, creating waterproof, stitch-less, lightweight seams with weld-like durability and ultra clean aesthetics.

I just got the Switch LT Hoody, and put it to use the next day.

I just have to say Westcomb makes high quality gear, with great attention to detail.
The combination of breathability and water proof is unbelievable! This fabric is years ahead of Gortex.

Used so far on a long day skinning in the Cascades in 35-degree wx. Noticeably more breathable...not just hype around the NeoShell fabric. Normally when I'm hot but want to cut the wind and I put on PacLite or ProShell I can instantly feel the greenhouse effect. Not so with NeoShell. Took this jacket up Mt. Rainier last week for it's first use and it performed WONDERFULLY. Hiking up to Camp Muir (10,000 feet) we were in a cloud cover at about 28-30 degrees Fahrenheit. I took this jacket out for a multi-day hike recently and it was the only thing that came back dry. I can't compare it to other similar materials, but the jacket worked great. It rained for two days straight and this is about the only thing that came back dry. Perfectly dry! I almost can't believe it.

Although the Westcomb Switch LT Hoody is advertised as a lightweight shell, it does not necessarily pack down small. Packed down to its smallest size would probably be about the size of a cantaloupe, to keep with the fruit analogy.
According to recent tests by independent labs, NeoShell does breathe better than Gore Tex Active Shell. If you do a google search for Neoshell Vs Gore-tex Active Shell, you will find some good articles and data.
