Ok, the cooler. I bought a different Yeti cooler about a year ago for road trips with my wife - it was wildly more expensive than I was planning on spending, but all reviews pointed to it being the 'best' brand and I wanted something that I could trust and that would last (because having to replace is annoying and also wasteful). It was a Tundra 35, and it has been all I was hoping for and more. So, when I wanted to buy a cooler for a friend that lets a bunch of us use his lake house in Southern California, I spent 10% of my time researching other brands, but then 90% just figuring out which Yeti model would be the best. It twas the Tundra Haul.
Right out of the box, it's clear this thing is hearty. Every component just feels indestructible. The first thing you notice is it is heavy. I believe it's a hair over 30 lbs. Like my 35, it's due to the amount of insulation, which is why it's so crazy effective. But just know it's heavy before you buy it - this is a 1-person job to wheel it as far as the eyes can see, but fully loaded it takes 1-really-strong-person or, more easily, 2 people. And pick a color you like because this cooler is going to last you a long, long time.
